TORTOLA — A young man identified as Tarik Aaron is now a patient at Peebles Hospital after gunshots rang out outside a popular bar at Baugher’s Bay sometime this morning, September 25.

There are various versions of how the incident happened.

In a release to VI Consortium, the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force said it is seeking witnesses to the shooting incident which has left one man wounded.

Aaron told police he was about to leave a bar and restaurant in Baughers Bay when he heard gun shots. He said he fled on foot and later discovered that he had been injured.

Aaron is being treated at Peebles Hospital for injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening.

It is not yet clear who is responsible for the shooting.

A number of shootings happened in this territory in past, and there were no leads as to who carried them out.
Police say investigations are continuing.
