ST. CROIX — A group of men working on a tomb at the Kingshill Cemetery this morning were robbed at gunpoint of cash and cellphones by two men, one brandishing a gun and another making demands, VIPD Public Information Officer Kevin Jackson announced on Friday.
According to Jackson, at about 10:45 a.m. today, officers received notification of a robbery from the 911 Emergency Call Center and were dispatched to Estate Peter’s Rest. Responding detectives met with one of the robbery victims, who managed to return to his place of employment in Peter Rest, where he was able to phone 911.
According to the victim, he and other men were working on a tomb in preparation for an upcoming burial, when sometime after 9:00 a.m., two unknown male individuals entered the property from a westerly direction and approached the workmen.
