ST. CROIX — A man whose girlfriend lives in the John F. Kennedy Housing Community accused his lover of cheating on him with two other men, and wind up assaulting her while attempting to grab her cellphone to verify his claim, VIPD Public Information Officer Kevin Jackson announced this afternoon.
According to Jackson, last Sunday at about 12:57 a.m., officers received notification from the 911 emergency call center of a burglary in progress at the housing community.
Upon arriving on the scene, officers met with the burglary victim who stated that at roughly 10:00 p.m. on the evening of Saturday, October 10, she and her boyfriend had gotten into a verbal disagreement and she asked him to leave the apartment in order to avoid an altercation. She went on to tell officers that around 12:55 a.m. on the following day, she and two male acquaintances were in her apartment, when her boyfriend broke the rear balcony door, entered the apartment and began to accuse her of cheating on him with the two male individuals.
The boyfriend then lunged at her, grabbed her mobile phone and hit her face while doing so. He then left the apartment with the mobile phone, according to Jackson.
The incident is under investigation by the Criminal Investigation Bureau.
