ST. THOMAS — Police arrested 48-year-old Moses Danet of Bolongo Bay and charged him with aggravated rape,” VIPD Public Information Officer Kevin Jackson announced this afternoon. Above, a mugshot of Danet.
According to Mr. Jackson, Danet was taken into custody after investigation results revealed him as the individual who a complaint was filed against in September, in reference to the sexual assault of a minor female.
No bail was set for Danet and he was remanded to the Bureau of Corrections pending his advise-of-rights hearing.
Elsewhere here, on Tuesday at about 10:55 a.m., officers responded to the call of a burglary that occurred at Gucci, located in Yacht Haven Grande.
Arriving at the location, officers met with the store’s manager, who stated that she’d locked the store and made sure all entrances and exits, along with windows were shuttered properly before she left the store on Monday night. But about 2:30 a.m. on Tuesday morning, she received a phone call from ADT informing her that the store’s alarm system had been activated.
Once she arrived at the store, the manager realized that several showcases were destroyed and various pieces of jewelry and accessories were missing, and that the suspect (s) had gained entry through the southern glass door.
The VIPS is asking anyone with information pertaining to the latter incident to contact the Criminal Investigation Bureau at (340) 714-9801, 911, the anonymous tip service Crime Stoppers USVI at 1-800-222-(TIPS) 8477 or go to www.crimestoppersusvi.org
