St. Croix Man Battered With Gun In Head; Robbed Of Gold Chain

News / Virgin Islands / November 21, 2015

ST. CROIX — A man earning an honest living was gun-butted several times and robbed of his gold necklace during an altercation that took place near the Candido Guadeloupe Housing Community, VIPD Media Specialist Sakeeda Freeman announced on Friday.

According to Ms. Freeman, citing a preliminary police report, the victim, who was working at the housing community for his employer, took a break and walked to his vehicle that was parked in the southeastern portion of the parking lot.

While attempting to start the transport, an unknown man approached him from behind and placed a hard object to the back of his head. The unknown man then demanded money and the gold chain that the victim was wearing, and proceeded to batter the victim on his head with the object, which was later described as a gun.

A physical altercation ensued, and the suspect threatened to shoot the victim. The suspect proceeded to forcefully pull the gold chain from the victim’s neck and hurriedly fled the scene.

The victim sustained a laceration to the upper back portion of his head; but declined medical attention. He was also unable to provide officers with a description of the assailant.

I wear many hats, I suppose, but the one which fits me best would be journalism, second to that would be radio personality, thirdly singer/songwriter and down the line. I've been the Editor-In-Chief at my videogames website, Gamesthirst, for over 5 years, writing over 7,000 articles and more than 2 million words. I'm also very passionate about where I live, the United States Virgin Islands, and I'm intent on making it a better place by being resourceful and keeping our leaders honest. VI Consortium was birthed out of said desire, hopefully my efforts bear fruit. Reach me at [email protected].
