ST. THOMAS — Police in St. Thomas found a man dead with multiple gunshot wounds about his body in the Hospital Ground area on Saturday afternoon, V.I.P.D. Public Information Officer Glen Dratte announced Sunday.
According to Mr. Dratte, on Saturday at approximately 5:17 p.m., the 911 emergency call center received a call of shots fired in the Hospital Ground area. Units from the Richard N. Callwood Command along with units from the Criminal Investigation Bureau (C.I.B.) traveled to the scene and found an unresponsive black male lying on the side of the road, Mr. Dratte said.
Emergency Medical Technicians were on scene and determined that the male victim, who had sustained multiple gunshot wounds about his body, had no vital signs.
He was identified by next of kin as 44-year-old Jerome Turnbull, Mr. Dratte said.
