Quick Note: WAPA Announces Road Closure On St. John

Community Center / News / Virgin Islands / December 23, 2015

ST. JOHN — The Virgin Islands Water and Power Authority has scheduled a road closure for Wednesday, December 23, on St. John, from the Pine Peace basketball court area to the top of Jacob’s Ladder from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., a WAPA press release has made known.

Crews will work in the area to install a new utility pole and transfer primary lines from a rotten pole to the newly planted pole. This work is necessary, WAPA says, to ensure the safety of pedestrians and motorists who traverse the area.

While work is being performed, vehicular traffic will be rerouted around the work area. Motorists are asked to follow directional signs and flagmen instructions for the safety of crews, pedestrians and other drivers.

The authority apologized for the inconvenience caused by this road closure, and ensures the public that every effort will be made to restore vehicular traffic as quickly as possible.

I wear many hats, I suppose, but the one which fits me best would be journalism, second to that would be radio personality, thirdly singer/songwriter and down the line. I've been the Editor-In-Chief at my videogames website, Gamesthirst, for over 5 years, writing over 7,000 articles and more than 2 million words. I'm also very passionate about where I live, the United States Virgin Islands, and I'm intent on making it a better place by being resourceful and keeping our leaders honest. VI Consortium was birthed out of said desire, hopefully my efforts bear fruit. Reach me at [email protected].
