UVI’s Spring Semester Begins Jan. 11; New Student Orientation Set Jan. 5, 7-8; Continuing Student Registration Underway

Spring Semester classes at the University of the Virgin Islands are scheduled to begin on Monday, Jan. 11, a press release UVI issued today reveals.

Online registration for continuing UVI students is available with access through the University’s BanWeb registration and student information portal. Late registration for new and continuing students is set for Friday, Jan. 8. UVI class schedules, a link to the BanWeb login page and additional details are available from the Registrar’s section of the UVI website.

New Student Orientation

A week of orientation activities is planned for new students enrolling at UVI, on Tuesday, Jan. 5, through Friday, Jan. 8, on the Albert A. Sheen Campus on St. Croix. Orientation on the St. Thomas Campus is planned for Thursday, Jan. 7, through Friday, Jan. 8. New student advisement and registration is scheduled for Thursday, Jan. 7, on both campuses. All newly matriculated students are required to participate in orientation activities prior to the start of the semester for academic advising and development of their class schedules. Orientation also includes sessions to introduce new students to UVI, networking with other students and instructors, and  campus tours.

St. Thomas Campus

  • Buccaneer Welcome Session – Thursday, Jan. 7, from 8:30 a.m. to 9 a.m. in the library on UVI upper campus.
  •  Buccaneer Luncheon Reception – Thursday, Jan. 7, noon to 1 p.m. in the UVI Cafeteria. Entertainment and light refreshments will be provided.

Albert A. Sheen Campus on St. Croix

  • Meet UVI’s Administration – Tuesday, Jan. 5, at 10 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. in the Great Hall.
  • Buccaneer Welcome Reception and Mixer – Tuesday, Jan. 5, 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. in the Great Hall.
  • Island Tour – “Navigating the Big Island”– Friday, Jan. 8, 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. – Student Center.
