Schneider Hospital Offering Amnesty To Residents With Unpaid Debt

ST. THOMAS — The Schneider Regional Medical Center (S.R.M.C.) announced on Tuesday via press release a debt amnesty program for individuals with unpaid hospital bills. According to the release, effective January 1, 2016, S.R.M.C. will institute a 90 day amnesty program allowing for significant discounts on overdue accounts.

An amnesty program has not been offered in over 10 years, and it’s the hope of the hospital that the community will take full advantage of this rare opportunity to resolve outstanding debts. Discounts of up to 50% will be offered on overdue accounts, according to the release.
