ST. CROIX — One of this island’s most popular events saw strong turnout and participation yet again on Friday night, as residents poured into downtown Christiansted to enjoy the myriad of activities that have come to mark Jump Up, which is held multiple times throughout the year as a way of bolstering the businesses there.
As has become custom, the Ebenezer Methodist Steel Orchestra, stationed near Caravelle Hotel, did not disappoint with their performances, and the Rising Stars Steel Pan Orchestra, enveloped by a crowd of event-goers and a group of Moko Jumbies near Government House, put on a great show as well.
And a variety of bands were situated in various locations all around town, a strategy the event’s organizers have used to keep all areas lively during the roughly 4-hour affair.
