ST. CROIX — A man who was wanted on domestic violence and assault charges turned himself in at 2:40 p.m. on Saturday, V.I.P.D. Media Specialist Sakeeda Freeman announced this afternoon.
The suspect, 24-year-old Waldemar Martinez, above, turned himself in at the Wilbur Francis Command Police Station. He was placed under arrest and charged with second degree assault and destruction of property. No bail was given, which is in accordance with the territory’s domestic violence laws.
The force had on Thursday requested the community’s assistance in locating the young man, and revealed that he frequented Bethlehem Village and Mutual Homes.
