Police Commissioner To Look Into Slew Of Local Sex Tapes Being Leaked Online

Breaking News / Crime / News / Top Stories / Virgin Islands / July 21, 2016

ST. CROIX — First it was the sex video a police officer, who was humiliated when the footage was leaked on social media showing her having oral sex with a man. The officer looked drugged, as if she was not aware of her surroundings. And the man, who was recording the moment all along, walked to her lower body and shot a clip of the inner corners of her legs.

Then another humiliating video of yet another local woman was leaked on social media, showing the woman having sex on a dildo — an artificial penis — while someone else recorded the footage.

But those videos were not all —  a third video was leaked, but it was not the last to have leaked in recent days and weeks on Virgin Islands internet circles.

At least one of the sex tapes — that of the police officer —  has been extremely damaging, moving the V.I.P.D. to place her on paid leave along with counseling, while she tries to overcome the trauma.

Virgin Islands Police Department Commissioner Delroy Richards told The Consortium this afternoon, that while he was only aware of the incident involving the officer, he would look into the recent leaks and make a determination on whether to move forward with an investigation.

“It’s unfortunate that the video ended up online, but I believe that at some point in time, she will have to be the one to determine who would have had access to that particular tape, or who taped the intimate session,” Mr. Richards said, referring to the police officer.

“The other ones I don’t know about them, but I will most certainly inquire, and if in fact it warrants the intervention of law enforcement, I will definitely coordinate my efforts with the federal agency that is responsible to monitor online explicit activities — whether it’s with a minor or adults — for assistance,” Mr. Richards added.

In a brief conversation with Attorney General Claude Walker this afternoon, Mr. Walker said he would research local statutes to determine the next types in bringing those involved in what is referred to as “revenge porn” to justice.

I wear many hats, I suppose, but the one which fits me best would be journalism, second to that would be radio personality, thirdly singer/songwriter and down the line. I've been the Editor-In-Chief at my videogames website, Gamesthirst, for over 5 years, writing over 7,000 articles and more than 2 million words. I'm also very passionate about where I live, the United States Virgin Islands, and I'm intent on making it a better place by being resourceful and keeping our leaders honest. VI Consortium was birthed out of said desire, hopefully my efforts bear fruit. Reach me at [email protected].
