ST. CROIX — The decomposing body of a man was found in an abandoned house in Estate Whim this afternoon, V.I.P.D. Public Information Officer Glen Dratte has made known via press release.

According to Mr. Dratte, at approximately 12:02 pm today, police officers were dispatched by the 911 emergency call center to investigate a foul odor emanating from an abandoned house in Estate Whim, where a black male vagrant had been known to squat.

Upon arrival to the scene, officers made contact with a concerned resident living in the area, who stated that he passed by the property, smelled a foul odor, went inside the abandon property and discovered a body.
