ST. CROIX — The Virgin Islands Police Department on Monday made known that it had discovered and confiscated multiple weapons, above, in an abandoned LBJ Gardens building in Christiansted Saturday night.

The discovery was made following a rash of shooting incidents that occurred in the same area on Saturday night, rattling the Golden Rock neighborhoods and forcing Breezes Restaurant patrons to leave early.

Also on Saturday, 19-year-old Delita Bates was arrested at a basketball tournament for fighting with a minor, according to police. As for the minor, she was charged with disturbance of the peace and was turned over to the Juvenile Detention Center. The incident occurred at the Central High School Gymnasium.

And finally, a 62-year-old man named Fernando Crispin of Estate Profit, was arrested for driving under the influence and negligent driving, after his vehicle collided into another near the St. Croix Central High School. Mr. Crispin was arrested after failing a field sobriety test.
