In recognition of the Thanksgiving holiday, Governor Kenneth Mapp has issued a proclamation providing for administrative leave for all nonessential government employees on the Friday following Thanksgiving, a press release Government House issued Friday has made known.
In his proclamation Mr. Mapp said, “The holiday season is upon our territory and we all look forward to the gathering of family and friends on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, November 24, 2016. I would like to extend that holiday and grant administrative leave on Friday, November 25, 2016.”
The governor’s proclamation authorizes commissioners and agency heads to grant administrative leave to non-essential employees working in the Government of the Virgin Islands.
Mr. Mapp wished residents a happy Thanksgiving and encouragede all families to reflect on their most cherished memories in the spirit of the holiday. He also urged family and friends to spend quality time building strong bonds.
