ST. CROIX — The V.I.P.D. scrambled to call a press briefing this afternoon at the force’s Frederiksted headquarters, making known that the three men that were placed on a wanted list and broadcast in local media, had been arrested. The arrests brought the force’s total apprehensions in one weekend to ten, one of whom was a minor, according to Lieutenant Robert Matthews, chief of investigations.
The arrests were made through the Criminal Investigation Bureau, alongside special operation units on St. Croix, according to Lt. Mathews.
The three men are David George, who turned himself in this morning; Dasha Graham, who was arrested in St. Thomas on Sunday, and Ahmed Francis. Mr. Francis also turned himself in this morning, according to Lt. Matthews.

“We want to ensure the community that we are out here; we are going to do what we have to do to make sure that our community stays safe, and we ask that you continue to give us those calls and feedback in reference to information, so we could move forward as a community,” St. Croix Police Chief Winsbut McFarland said this afternoon. The chief said the arrests were in part community tips as well as ongoing initiatives inside the force.
St. Thomas Police Chief Jason Marsh, who was present at today’s press briefing, told reporters that initiatives were just as active in St. Thomas as they are in St. Croix. He said warrants are currently going out and announcements would be forthcoming.
Aside from the 9 adult arrests, police also nabbed a 17-year-old minor, who was remanded to the Youth Rehabilitation Center, after being charged with first-degree robbery.
