ST. CROIX — The first annual Million Mother March, which founder Patasha Tracey says will be held again in May, 2017, was deemed successful for multiple reasons: It mobilized a community — walking from the Canegata Ballpark from 5:00 a.m. on Sunday, all the way to Fort Frederik — to take a stand against the gun violence disrupting the islands, and, among other successes, brought to the fore the pain those left behind must deal with following the violent death of a loved one.
Above, Raslyn Beazer, center, is consoled after giving in to tears pleading for the community’s help in bringing her son’s killer to justice.
