ST. CROIX — After a ribbon cutting ceremony that took place on Monday morning, the Department of Health officially reopened the WIC Clinic in Frederiksted, D.O.H. has announced. Those who attended the ribbon cutting ceremony received a full tour of the newly renovated facility, located directly across from the Frederiksted Hotel, in the vicinity of Frederiksted Health Care, Inc.
D.O.H. Commissioner Michelle S. Davis, spoke on the long-lasting benefits that WIC services and resources provides for pregnant women and their children.
“Today I am very happy say that after 11 years of closure, the Department of Health has resumed the convenience of the WIC Clinic for our clients living in the west side of St. Croix,” Ms. Davis siad. “WIC provides nutritious foods, nutrition education, breastfeeding support, and referrals to health care and social services for thousands of families in the territory, and it plays a crucial role in improving lifetime health for women, their infants, and young children.”
WIC participants who reside on the west of St. Croix can obtain their recertification, check pickup appointments, nutrition counseling and all other services at the clinic in Frederiksted, according to D.O.H.
