St. Croix Woman Arrested After Allegedly ‘Slashing’ Woman’s Face In Local Nightclub

ST. CROIX — The V.I.P.D. on Sunday announced that police had arrested a female suspect for allegedly “slashing” another woman’s face in a local nightclub.

V.I.P.D. Public Information Officer Glen Dratte said that the suspect, identified as 22-year-old Misaela Melendez, committed the assault on May 13, and was arrested based on a warrant issued by a Superior Court magistrate.

She was charged with third-degree assault, and was remanded to the Golden Grove Detention Center pending her advise-of-rights hearing, after failing to make bail of $40,000.
