As cleanup continues from Hurricane Irma in the Virgin Islands, residents are asked to avoid cutting downed telephone lines, if possible. Companies working to restore service say downed lines may still be energized and may still be providing service — even if they are hanging or on the ground. If at all possible during your cleanup work, please don’t cut the lines — as it will delay the recovery effort.
