As the primary election season draws near, Democratic candidates are ramping up their efforts in spreading their message far and wide. The Petrus/Sanes team — the only Democratic team with a full ticket — has organized a concert for Friday at the La Reine Chicken Shack, that it hopes will entice residents to come out and have a good time, while listening to the candidates’ ideas to better the lives of Virgin Islanders. There will be a voter registration drive, too, with the Elections System of the Virgin Islands being at the location from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. (Bring along either your U.S. passport, birth certificate, military discharge form DD214, or naturalization certificate to register.)

The candidates are inviting the entire community to come out and have fun, with dancing and live entertainment expected throughout the night, according to information provided by the campaign.

The Petrus/Sanes team says it’s running on a “Government that Works for You” theme, whose goal is to be inclusive of all Virgin Islanders. In a recent message, Mr. Petrus said, “In developing our platform, we understand the need to not only generate economic development but also to establish an accountable government that will work for the people. A government that will take care of all and not just a selected few. A government that will improve our quality of life for generations to come.”

Mr. Petrus and Mr. Sanes will also be on the parade route during the St. Patrick’s Day Parade on Saturday in Christiansted.
