“We are glad to continue the tradition of hosting the Miss University of the Virgin Islands Ambassadorial Competition,” said Kevin Dixon, coordinator of Student Activities on St. Croix. “We are always ecstatic about providing opportunities for our students to showcase their talents, and intellect, as they all vie to serve as an ambassador for our institution.”

The competition is alternated between, the St. Croix and St. Thomas Campuses. Though the competition was slated to be held on St. Thomas this year, due to the damage on St. Thomas from Hurricane Irma, specifically to the Reichhold Center, SGA- St. Thomas was unable to host the event.

This year’s competition will showcase three UVI students, who will compete for a chance to succeed Angelique Flemming, reigning Miss University of the Virgin Islands.

Her platform, “Education is Paramount/Key,” emphasizes the pivotal role that seeking a higher education plays in ensuring a bright and successful future.

The contestants will participate in a closed pre-pageant interview on Saturday, April 7, in UVI’s Great Hall on the Sheen Campus- St. Croix. Points accumulated from this segment will go toward the overall competition scores.
