ST. CROIX — – The Special Olympics of the Virgin Islands is hosting its annual games aimed at empowering and engaging an underserved section of the Virgin Islands community. There will be an opening ceremony at 8:30 a.m. Admission is free, and attendees are encouraged to bring a guest or two to cheer on the athletes.
The Special Olympics has existed in the United States Virgin Islands since 1977. The event takes place at the Renaissance Park (VIALCO), St. Croix on Saturday.
