Supervisor of Elections Caroline Fawkes on Thursday announced that early voting for the runoff election between Governor Kenneth Mapp and candidate for governor Albert Bryan, will take place on November 17 and 18, at the respective Election System offices in the two districts.

On St. Thomas and St. Croix, early voting will run from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., and from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on St. John.

Nearly 12,000 Virgin Islanders voted early in this year’s general election, so the announcement of early voting will please residents who want to avoid the election day rush. According to information provided by the Election System on Thursday, 25,980 Virgin Islanders voted in this year’s general election.

To vote early on St. Croix, head to the Election System office in the Sunny Isle Annex across from the WAPA building. On St. Thomas, early voting takes place at the Election System office in Lockhart Gardens upstairs Banco Popular. On St. John, early voting takes place at the Election System Offices located at the Market Place Suite II.

The Election System also provided updated numbers of the Nov. 6 General Election results, seen attached below. There were no changes relative to placement of winners, but Mr. Bryan has built on his election night lead slightly, for a total of 9,539 votes to Mr. Mapp’s 8,479 — bringing Mr. Bryan’s lead on November 6 to 1,060.
Mr. Mapp and Mr. Bryan will go at it again on November 20, with the slate being wiped clean and the campaigns again fighting for every vote.

I wear many hats, I suppose, but the one which fits me best would be journalism, second to that would be radio personality, thirdly singer/songwriter and down the line. I've been the Editor-In-Chief at my videogames website, Gamesthirst, for over 5 years, writing over 7,000 articles and more than 2 million words. I'm also very passionate about where I live, the United States Virgin Islands, and I'm intent on making it a better place by being resourceful and keeping our leaders honest.
