As tropical storm Bertha makes its way out of the territory, voters, especially on St. Croix, as it was affected more than St. Thomas, are getting out to the polls later in the afternoon, a sign that that people are taking this year’s primary election seriously.
Visiting various voting places, the mood was optimistic among voters who made the special effort to brave the storm, but it was a slow trickle for most of the morning, and although things had picked up later in the afternoon because the skies cleared, the votes were still low historically.
