ST. CROIX — A man from Louisiana wanted for robbery was arrested on St. Croix on Thursday, V.I.P.D. Public Information Officer Glen Dratte has announced. The arrest was a result of a joint assignment between the FBI and the V.I.P.D., according to the release.
The fugitive, Brandel Lynard Berry, was allegedly involved in a robbery incident that police said occurred on January 11. He then fled the state of Louisiana and traveled to St. Croix, where he was tracked, according to the release.
Contact was made with Mr. Berry, 36, on St. Croix, where he was served with an arrest warrant signed by Judge Paul Schneider of the 24th Judicial District of Louisiana. He was charged with first-degree robbery.
The suspect arrested and remanded to the Bureau of Corrections pending his extradition back to Louisiana to face justice.
