Big Band, Pumpa, Mic Love And Caribbean Queen To Headline Tourism Ambassadors Event In Fort Lauderdale Oct. 11; RSVP Your Attendance

News / Tourism / Travel / VI Ambassadors / Virgin Islands / September 27, 2019

The Department of Tourism will host a VI Ambassadors event in Fort Lauderdale, Florida on October 11, a move that puts the U.S. Virgin Islands center stage with a strong presence during the carnival season in the Sunshine State, which culminates with the Miami Carnival on Sunday, October 13.

The Department of Tourism, led by Commissioner Joseph Boschulte, has enlisted some of the territory’s biggest Soca artists — Mic Love, Pumpa, Big Band and Calypso star Caribbean Queen — for the Ambassadors event to ensure the USVI is well represented. The move is a continuation of Mr. Boschulte’s strategy to encourage Virgin Islands diaspora to come home for the festive seasons, beginning this year with the Crucian Christmas Festival, which kicks off in December.

The VI Ambassadors event will be held from 6:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Friday, Oct. 11 at The Dalmar Ballroom.

More events are planned, including a presence in Miami for the carnival on Sunday, Oct. 13. More details will be provided in the coming days.

RSVP your attendance for the Ambassadors event here.

I wear many hats, I suppose, but the one which fits me best would be journalism, second to that would be radio personality, thirdly singer/songwriter and down the line. I've been the Editor-In-Chief at my videogames website, Gamesthirst, for over 5 years, writing over 7,000 articles and more than 2 million words. I'm also very passionate about where I live, the United States Virgin Islands, and I'm intent on making it a better place by being resourceful and keeping our leaders honest. VI Consortium was birthed out of said desire, hopefully my efforts bear fruit. Reach me at [email protected].
