A St. Thomas man told police at the Richard Callwood Command on Tuesday that, while walking on Fifth Street, two men approached him, one carrying a handgun, robbed him of $20 and casually walked away. The incident took place at about 2:15 p.m.
Meanwhile on St. John, on the same day, a suspect wearing a black hoodie, black ski mask, black shirt, pants and shoes entered the Love City Mini Mart carrying a handgun and demanded money.
The store manager and an employee, who were closing the store, said the suspect grabbed an envelope containing approximately $200 and several phone cards before leaving the store.
Both cases are being followed up by the Criminal Investigation Bureau detectives, who ask anyone with information on the incident to call 712-6030, 712-6077, 911 or Crime Stoppers USVI at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
