St. Thomas Man Found Dead Of Gunshot Wounds

St. Thomas resident, 36-year-old Ishmell A. Sasso, was found shot to death in the Tutu Hi Rise Apartments, near Bldg. 5, at about 11:45 a.m. on December 19, police spokesperson Melody Rames said Friday.

Officers were dispatched to the crime scene to investigate the matter, and upon arrival, found the victim on the ground in a bushy area near the building with multiple gunshot wounds to his body.

Police say Sasso showed no vital signs when Emergency Medical Technicians examined him on the scene, where he was later pronounced dead by medical personnel.

Major Crimes detectives are asking anyone with information on the fatal shooting to call them at 340-714-9843, 340-714-5391 or 340-714-9823. Residents may also call 911 or Crime Stoppers USVI at 1-800-222-TIPS.
