UVI Spring Semester Begins Jan.12, Orientation Slated For Jan. 7-10

The University of the Virgin Islands spring semester gets underway on Monday, Jan. 12.

Beginning today, Wednesday, Jan. 7 and lasting through Saturday, Jan. 10, both campuses on St. Thomas and St. Croix will host a variety of orientation activities for newly enrolled students–all of whom are required to participate in order to undergo academic advising and create class schedules.

St. Thomas Campus

  • Official welcome by UVI president – Wednesday, Jan. 7 from 8:30 a.m. to 9 a.m. in Business 110 in the Chase Auditorium.
  • Mix and Mingle – Wednesday, Jan. 7, 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in the Administration and Conference Center 1st floor conference room. Entertainment and light refreshments will be provided.
  • Student Organization Fair – Thursday, Jan. 8, 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in UVI’s Ralph M. Paiewonsky Library.

Albert A. Sheen Campus on St. Croix

  • Official welcome by UVI president – Thursday, Jan. 8, at 6 p.m. in the Great Hall.
  • Mix and Mingle – Thursday, Jan. 8, 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on the Trellis Walkway. Entertainment and light refreshments will be provided.
  • Clubs and Organization Day – Friday, Jan. 9, 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the Great Hall.

Online registration for continuing UVI students is available through the university’s BanWeb registration and student information portal. Late registration for new and continuing students is set for Friday, Jan. 9. UVI class schedules, a link to the BanWeb login page and additional details are available here.
