An 18-year-old man was found unresponsive at the back of Apt. 61 Section 3 of Concordia Villas Monday around 7:45 a.m. after being shot multiple times the night before, VIPD Public Information Officer Kevin Jackson announced.
According to Jackson, on Feb. 15 at roughly 8:27 p.m., the 911 Emergency call center received notification of shots being fired in the Concordia area of Frederiksted. The dispatchers informed the units to examine the area surrounding the Alexander Henderson Elementary School, and the responding officers proceeded to search, but found nothing unusual.
On Feb. 16 at about 7:45 a.m., the 911 Emergency call center received a follow-up call from a concerned citizen, indicating that there was a body in the back of Apt. 61 Section 3 of Concordia Villas. An ambulance was called to the scene and EMTs examined the man’s body, but no vital signs were found.
He was later identified as Tahjil Harrigan of Harborview Apartments, Christiansted.
Detectives with the Major Crimes Division are investigating the shooting death and are urging anyone with information to call the Criminal Investigation Bureau at (340) 712-6075, 911 or the anonymous tip service, Crime Stoppers USVI at (800) 222-8477.
This is the third homicide on St. Croix this year.
