Fight Over Woman Ends In Death Of Ex-Boyfriend

Breaking News / Featured / News / Virgin Islands / April 13, 2015

ST. CROIX — A man was found dead in the bedroom of his ex-girlfriend after he and the woman’s current boyfriend became engaged in a struggle, VIPD Public Information Officer Kevin Jackson has announced.

According to Jackson, at approximately 11:21 p.m. on Sunday, the 911 emergency call center was notified by a female, residing in Estate Marienhoj, of the death of her former boyfriend at her residence.

The young woman stated that she was at her residence with her current boyfriend lying in bed together, when suddenly, her former boyfriend appeared in the bedroom and engaged in a struggle with her current boyfriend.

The woman said she then ran out of the bedroom where the two men were fighting so she could call 911 for assistance. Upon returning to the bedroom, the woman said she saw the current boyfriend administering cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) to the ex-boyfriend. However, when the ambulance arrived at the residence, no sign of life was found in the ex-boyfriend and no visible signs of trauma to his body.

The dead man was later identified as 47-year-old Robert Reynolds.

Detectives are continuing their investigation into the incident.
