Man Robbed Of Gold Chain By Gun-Brandishing Assailant

ST. CROIX — A man who lives in the Cane Brake Apartments in Frederiksted was robbed of his gold chain by a man brandishing a gun on Wednesday night, VIPD Public Information Officer Kevin Jackson has revealed.

Jackson said the robbery notification was received by the 911 emergency call center at about 8:40 p.m., and upon arrival on the scene, investigators found the victim, who explained what had transpired.

The victim said while in the vicinity of the Cane Brake Apartments, he was approached by a slim, black male whose face was covered with a black cloth. Then, with a gun pointed at the victim’s face, the suspect forced off a gold chain from the victim’s neck and proceeded to leave the area, firing a shot as he fled.

The victim was not injured and police continue to investigate the crime.
