Woman Robbed, Beaten With Baseball Bat In Mutual Homes

ST. CROIX — A woman was robbed and beaten on Wednesday at about 8:50 p.m., V.I.P.D. Public Information Officer Glen Dratte said announced via press release on Thursday.

Mr. Dratte said officers were immediately dispatched to the scene and met with the victim, who stated that while entering her apartment in the Mutual Homes building in Estate Grove Place, she was attacked by an unknown individual dressed in all black, and wore a hoodie over his head. The victim said that the male individual struck her three times with an aluminum baseball bat and grabbed her jewelry from around her neck and took her cash.

The victim sustained injuries to the knee and leg area of her body, and bruises on the back of her neck. She was transported to the Juan F. Luis Hospital by ambulance.

Police say the incident is currently under investigation by the Criminal Investigation Bureau, and are asking anyone with information that may lead to the arrest of the suspect to call 340 712-6024, 911 or anonymous tip line Crime Stoppers VI at 1 800 222 tips.
