Thieves Hold Up Pickaxe, Point Gun To Head Of Estate Grove Place Man During Robbery

News / Virgin Islands / August 4, 2015

ST. CROIX — On Sunday at about 4:11 p.m., officers received notification from the 911 emergency call center of a robbery in Grove Place, the second such incident happening to the same individual in one week, who was recently beaten by twelve men attempting to plunder his home, according to a police report issued by VIPD Public Information Officer Kevin Jackson.

This latest event, however, saw the victim being robbed of two air-conditioning units.

According to the victim, while doing some home repairs outside of his residence, three males wearing white t-shirts and jeans appeared and asked for a glass of water. As he began to tell them that he had no water, he was pushed to the ground and looking up, a gun and pickaxe were pointed at his head.

The victim told the officers that the men entered his residence and removed two air-conditioning units, took his mobile phone and immediately left the area.

This same individual was left severely beaten by twelve men who were in search of spoils in the victim’s house, but found none.

The incident is under investigation by Detectives with the Criminal Investigation Bureau.
