Tax Office At Henry E. Rohlsen Airport Moves To New Location

News / Virgin Islands / August 17, 2015

ST. CROIX — The Bureau of Internal Revenue today issued a press release making known to business taxpayers that the excise tax office at the Henry E. Rohlsen Airport will be opening for business at a new location beginning on Monday, August 24, 2015.

The new excise offices are located in the Aviation Park building (next to DHL), which is owned by the Virgin Islands Port Authority.

The prior location had to be closed due to a maintenance condition that could not be rectified, according to the release. Excise services were provided at the Sunny Isle’s Bureau offices during the period of time needed to retrofit the new location to meet the needs of the agency.

“We worked diligently with the staff of the VI Port Authority, as well as the Department of Public Works, to ensure that the new location is suitable for both the employees and the taxpaying public,” said Marvin Pickering, acting director of the Bureau. “I wish to thank the staff of both agencies and those of the Bureau for their hard work in accomplishing this task. In addition, I want to thank the business taxpayers for their patience and flexibility during this transition period.”

Taxpayers who have concerns about the Excise Tax Office operations are urged to contact Glen Hodge, supervisor, at (340) 715-1040. Ext. 3201.
