St. Croix Man Shot By Unknown Assailant

ST. CROIX — A man told police that he was shot by an unknown assailant, VIPD Public Information Officer Kevin Jackson revealed on Friday.

According to Jackson, on Friday, at 12:01 a.m., officers were dispatched to the Juan F. Luis Hospital and Medical Center by the 911 emergency call center to investigate the report of a shooting victim seeking treatment.

Officers met with the victim who stated that as he was driving out of the Harvey Housing Community in Estate Profit, an unknown individual (s) fired shots at him. Realizing that he had been shot, he drove himself to the medical facility for treatment.

Detectives with the Criminal Investigation Bureau are investigating the matter.
