The three major Virgin Islands banks have announced closures for August 27, as tropical storm Erika continues onward towards the territory, and is expected to start impacting the islands on Thursday morning.

Scotiabank:

Due to the anticipated effects of Tropical Storm Erika, all USVI Scotiabank branches will be closed on Thursday, August 27, 2015. All ATMs will remain fully operational.

Our Contact Center will continue to operate during regular business hours 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. If you have any questions or require additional information, please contact us at 787-766-4999.

Firstbank:

Due to Tropical Storm Erika’s projected path, FirstBank wishes to inform the general public that all USVI and BVI branches will be closed tomorrow, Thursday, August  27. 

Banco Popular:

In light of Tropical Storm Erika, Banco Popular (BPPR) is announcing the closure of all banks within the USVI and BVI Region on Thursday, August 27th. Although all BPPR banks will be closed tomorrow, all ATM’s in the USVI (St. Thomas and St. Croix) will remain operational (weather permitting). The public is advised that the Cane Garden Bay ATM in Tortola will shut down at 5:00pm today. All other ATM’s in the BVI will continue to operate as long as the weather permits.

Customers may also access their accounts and conduct transactions through Mi Banco Online by visiting www.popular.com or by calling Telebanco at 1-888-724-3659.

Banco Popular will keep the public informed of any changes and new information regarding operations in the USVI and BVI.
