ST. THOMAS — The lifeless body of a Hispanic man was found disposed at an abandoned dump site here, riddled with multiple gunshot wounds, VIPD Public Information Officer Kevin Jackson has announced.
According to Jackson, today at about 8:05 a.m., officers were dispatched to Black Point Hill after receiving notification from central dispatch of a dead on arrival (DOA) victim discovered in the area.
Arriving at Black Point Hill, officers met with a detective of the VIPD who stated that at roughly 7:58 a.m., while walking in the area of John Brewers Bay Beach, she was stopped by a passing motorist who asked if she’d seen the body of a male lying in the area of the former dump site. The detective said she told the motorist that she had not seen the body, and at the same time saw another officer driving by and relayed the information.
The two law enforcement officers then traveled to the former dump site where they saw the motionless body of a Hispanic male appearing to be in his late twenties to mid-thirties, with multiple gunshot wounds about his body. The officers immediately notified central dispatch of their findings.
According to Jackson, no identification was found on the body, and it was later transported to the morgue at the Roy L. Schneider Regional Medical Center.
