ST. THOMAS  — Ms. Karen Andrews, who went missing on Thursday, was found at about 10:34 a.m. by VIPD search teams led by officers, recruits from the VIPD Academy and members of St. Thomas Rescue, VIPD Public Information Officer Kevin Jackson announced this morning.

According to a report Jackson issued on Friday, Ms. Andrews, 65, was last seen in the area of Bonne Esperance on Thursday before she went missing, and wore a navy blue, tie-dyed tank top and peach colored short pants.

The group coordinated the search for Ms. Andrews Friday afternoon and continued into the evening. The search teams reconvened this morning at 7:00 a.m. and continued their search covering a perimeter from where she was last seen in Bonne Esperance, Jackson said.

At 10:34 a.m. today, the search teams found the missing, vulnerable adult in an area consisting of old building ruins located west of Brewers’ Bay. Ms. Andrews was found safe but somewhat dehydrated and was taken to the Roy Lester Schneider Hospital for treatment and observation.

St. Thomas Chief of Police, Darren Foy, extends his sincere thanks to the effort and dedication shown by the family of Ms. Andrews, VIPD officers, police recruits and St. Thomas Rescue in their concerted search and end result in locating Ms. Andrews.

I wear many hats, I suppose, but the one which fits me best would be journalism, second to that would be radio personality, thirdly singer/songwriter and down the line. I've been the Editor-In-Chief at my videogames website, Gamesthirst, for over 5 years, writing over 7,000 articles and more than 2 million words. I'm also very passionate about where I live, the United States Virgin Islands, and I'm intent on making it a better place by being resourceful and keeping our leaders honest. VI Consortium was birthed out of said desire, hopefully my efforts bear fruit. Reach me at [email protected].
