Governor Mapp Heads To Florida For 'Series of Meetings'

ST. THOMAS — Governor Kenneth Mapp will head out of the territory on Tuesday for what Government House Communications Director, Kimberly Jones, says will be a “series of meetings.”

Pressed for more information, Ms. Jones only confirmed to The Consortium that the territory’s leader will be in Florida until October 22, and that upon his arrival back to the territory, “we will report on the outcome” of the meetings.

As per VI Code, while the governor is off island, the lieutenant governor becomes the temporary commander in chief.
