ST. CROIX — The annual Christiansted Boat Parade and Jump Up will take place tomorrow afternoon and into the night, and the Virgin Islands Police Department has announced parking restrictions and closings for the events.

According to the release, the restrictions will be in effect from 12:00 p.m. until the events conclude late Saturday:

  • Parking is prohibited on King Street beginning at the intersection of King and King Cross Street.
  • Parking is prohibited on Church Street, between King and Company Streets.
  • Parking is prohibited on Queen Cross Street, between King and Company Streets.
  • Parking is prohibited on Queen Cross Street, from the intersection of King and Queen Cross Street to the parking area adjacent to the Boardwalk.
  • Vehicles found parked in the restricted areas will be cited and towed at the owner’s expense.

Motorists are urged to use available alternate routes until the duration of the event.

The police department apologizes for any inconvenience these restrictions may cause and wishes the community, visitors and J’ouvert participants a safe and enjoyable time.
