ST. THOMAS — The Virgin Islands Police Department has nabbed a second suspect in the killing of Rajkumarie Hendrickson, a 42-year-old Texan whose body was riddled with bullets at the Jala Jala nightclub here in October.
The suspect, 24-year-old Adowa Fleming, was arrested and formally charge on Thursday with accessory after the fact and misprision of a felony in connection with the October 24 murder of Ms. Hendrickson, and was remanded to the Bureau of Corrections after failing to make bail of $250,000.
According to a report issued by VIPD Media Specialist Sakeeda Freeman, at roughly 4:15 a.m. on October 24, the 911 emergency call center notified officers that shots had been fired in the area of the Jala Jala Nightclub located on Kronprindsens Gade.
Upon arrival on the scene, officers discovered an unresponsive female of Hispanic descent who received numerous gunshot injuries about her body. According to the preliminary investigation, the victim was speaking with two male individuals when an unknown grey Jeep drove up to them and began firing shots in their direction, according Ms. Freeman.
The two male individuals ran and the female victim was shot where she was standing. One of the male individuals sustained injuries from the gunfire, and was transported to the Roy Lester Schneider Hospital by ambulance where he was treated for his injuries.
