ST. CROIX — A press release issued by the Virgin Islands Police Department this afternoon reveals that officers were dispatched to the Aqua Lounge Night Club, located in Estate Castle Coakley, in relation to multiple fights that had broken out at a dance event at about 3:00 a.m. last Sunday.
Citing a preliminary report, VIPD Public Information Officer Kevin Jackson said there were several fights both inside and outside the club, as well as discharge of gunfire.
Responding officers arrived at the location after receiving a report from the 911 emergency call center, only to observe people fleeing the area, the release further stated. The officers were unable to make any contact with a complainant or witnesses to the fracas. Furthermore, no reports of injury or property damage was filed.
A search of the area by the officers yielded 2 live .40 caliber rounds and several spent shell casings.
The VIPD is asking anyone with information concerning the incident to phone 911 or the anonymous tip service, Crime Stoppers USVI, at 1-800-222-8477.
