ST. THOMAS — The second victim who was shot last Wednesday but was clinging to life passed away on Saturday at about 8:08 a.m, VIPD Media Specialist Sakeeda Freeman announced today.

The deceased victim was identified as 35-year-old Heidi Mills.

In the original report, Police Public Information Officer Kevin Jackson, citing a preliminary report, said officers ventured to a location that was provided at about 1:29 a.m. that morning, and found a Caucasian male unresponsive and lying prone in the roadway, while a female Caucasian victim was lying on the ground moaning.

The male victim had sustained a gunshot wound to the head, along with several shots to his upper torso and was pronounced dead on the scene. The female victim, though alive, was listed as in serious condition after sustaining a gunshot wound to the head and one to the lower left leg. She was receiving treatment at the Roy Lester Schneider Hospital at the time, according to Mr. Jackson.
