ST. CROIX —  Stedroy Hurst, a prisoner incarcerated at the Golden Grove Correctional Facility and Detention Center here was charged with first degree arson after setting on fire the cell of another inmate on Tuesday, V.I.P.D. Public Information Officer Kevin Jackson announced on Wednesday afternoon.

According to Mr. Jackson, Mr. Hurst set fire to the cell of an inmate within the same cluster, causing the blaze to damage bedding, photographs and DVDs within the cell. No one was injured during the incident, Mr. Jackson said.

Bail for Mr. Hurst was set at $75,000 by order of the court, and he was remanded back to the Golden Grove facility.
