Crime Stoppers USVI has started its “Crime of the Week” initiative in an effort to keep at the forefront crimes committed that remain unsolved. On Sunday, two items were released: A man who was shot to death on St. Croix in 2013, and a Puerto Rican man found shot to death in St. Thomas earlier this year.
On St. Croix, at approximately 2:28 pm on November 18, 2013, police were dispatched to the Frederiksted beach area vicinity of Target Wall. Upon arrival, police observed an unresponsive black male lying on the sand behind a black pick up truck. The victim sustained a single gunshot wound to the head. The victim was identified as 42-year-old David Francois, who succumbed to his injury. Police are asking for your assistance in seeking any information that can assist in solving this case.
On January 28, 2016 at about 10:24 pm on St. Thomas, police were dispatched to the area of Wintberg in reference to a gunshot victim. The victim died at the scene and was identified as Carlos Lebron Lopez, 39, of Puerto Rico. Police are asking for your assistance in seeking any information that can assist in solving this case.
