St. Croix: On Tuesday, July 9th, 2013 28-year-old Kenya Lawrence and her 7-year-old son, Devontae Charles, were brutally gunned down in their Estate Glynn home. At about 2:00 p.m. emergency dispatchers received a call reporting shots fired in the residential area on the northern side of Estate Glynn. Within 10 minutes a subsequent call reported that two injured individuals had been found in the home. According to the report, Lawrence and Devontae were in the home along with her two-year-old twins. The toddlers were not physically harmed in the incident.
St. John: On April 13th at about 5:15 p.m. officers were dispatched to Pine Peace regarding shots being fired. Officers were also informed of a shooting victim at Myrah Keating Clinic. The officers found that the victim sustained a single gunshot wound to his upper right thigh. The victim stated that while walking in the area, he heard gunfire and ran to a nearby store. However, the victim said that he only realized he’d been shot after leaving the store. The victim told police he did not see who did the shooting and was subsequently transported to Schneider Regional Medical Center on St. Thomas for further medical treatment.
St. Thomas: On April 11th officers were dispatched to Estate Thomas regarding a robbery. The victim stated that at approximately 11:45 a.m. while sitting on the porch, an unknown male entered the his porch, pointed a gun, and then snatched a gold chain from his neck and removed a gold watch from his wrist. The suspect then left the porch and walked down the road heading south. The victim stated that the suspect was wearing a red cloth around his face, however he was unable to identify the perpetrator.
