Delegate Plaskett And S.B.A. To Host Seminar Aimed At Helping Small Businesses Take Advantage Of Federal Grants

Business / News / Virgin Islands / March 7, 2016

ST. THOMAS — Virgin Islands Congresswoman Stacey Plaskett and the Small Business Administration (S.B.A.) will host a joint business seminar with the aim of helping the territory’s small business owners and budding entrepreneurs with the federal procurement process, Mrs. Plaskett has said. The idea is to assist with the programs available to facilitate federal government contracting.

“This workshop is designed to assist our small business owners, and those who are considering starting a small business, with the federal procurement process. Through various meetings with members of our business community, I came to understand that this was something that was needed and I am sure our small business community will benefit greatly from the information coming out of these seminars,” Mrs. Plaskett said.

The small business seminar will be held in St. Thomas on Wednesday, March 9, at the Virgin Islands Small Business Development Center in Nisky Center, and in St. Croix on Thursday, March 10 at the Virgin Islands Small Business Development Center located in the Sion Farm Shopping Center. The seminars will begin at 9 a.m. and end at noon.

Space is limited and registration prior to attendance is strongly suggested.

For more information on the Small Business Seminar visit plaskett.house.gov/sbs or contact the district office at 340-778-5900 in St. Croix or 340-774-4408 in St. Thomas.

I wear many hats, I suppose, but the one which fits me best would be journalism, second to that would be radio personality, thirdly singer/songwriter and down the line. I've been the Editor-In-Chief at my videogames website, Gamesthirst, for over 5 years, writing over 7,000 articles and more than 2 million words. I'm also very passionate about where I live, the United States Virgin Islands, and I'm intent on making it a better place by being resourceful and keeping our leaders honest. VI Consortium was birthed out of said desire, hopefully my efforts bear fruit. Reach me at [email protected].
