ST. THOMAS — Gun violence has claimed the life of yet another black male in St. Thomas, with the latest incident occurring early this morning at 5:44 a.m. in the area of the Tutu High Rise housing community, according to Glen Dratte, V.I.P.D. public information officer (P.I.O.)

The V.I.P.D. was alerted by the 911 emergency call center of shots fired near the housing community. Upon arrival to the scene, police made contact with the unresponsive male, later identified by next of kin as 42-year-old Devon Freeman. Mr. Freeman was shot to death, according to Mr. Dratte. No other information was divulged.

The case is presently under investigation by the Homicide Task Force, according to the force’s P.I.O.
